As Neymar shows his commitment to the country for giving him that famous 10 number jersey, Brazil secure first 3 points with a comprehensive win 3-1 over Croatia in The opening match in Group A.
Croatia took the lead against the play in the 10th minute. Ivica Olic's searching cross took deflection off Marcelo and went in. Sao Paulo became silent. Even with a much less experienced side, Brazil continuously attacked Croatia. Brazil won many corners within 20 minutes. Neymer took control of the play after 20 minutes, along with Marcelo and Oscar. There was a lso a battle between Modric and Neymar in the midfield, which eventually lead to getting Neymar a yellow card in the 26 th min. Neymar responded with a fabulous left foot goal in the 29 th min. Sao Paulo was waiting for that moment and crowd errupted. Neymar used a free space outside the box brilliantly and positioned for that ground shot.
Brazil kept on attacking untill the first half.
Brazil continued to move forward to break the lock of equal score, which resulted in Oscar being fowled and getting free kick in the 50 min. Neymar took the shot wide off the target. Meanwhile, Olic was asking questions at the other end, through left wing, but, Thiago, Gustavo and David Luiz managed to keep the goal away. Modric used all his experience and skill in the midfield, but, out numbered by more skilled Brazilians. Scolari changed the line by calling back Hulk and Paulinho with Bernard and Hernanes.
The much awaited lead came in 70th min. Oscar and Dani Alves were continuously attacking from the right wing. At the end of such a movement, Oscar passed the ball to Fred in the box, who was pulled down by Lovren. Referee pointed to the penalty spot and show an yellow card to Lovren while Sao Paulo and Brazil were celebrating. Neymar took kick , which touched hands of diving Pletikosa, but he could not prevent it from reaching the net. Neymar's 33rd goal for Selecao. Former player Kaka and Cafu were at the peak of their joy, when he celebrated the goal.
With the second goal, Croatia went on to attack more, which lead to continuous corners. David Luiz blocked a cross, which almost have become another own goal. At 76 th min, David Luiz just missed the goal, from a Oscar cross, which was an easier connecting chance for Neymar.
At 82 nd min they scored but denied becoz, Cesar was fowled by Olic while trying to gather an air ball.
Ramirez then replaced Neymar. In the injury time, Oscar scored an excellent goal to finish the score line 3-2. It was a very well deserved for the player, for his outstanding play. There was nothing much to do for the Croatians to do after that goal.
