Juventus player Chiesa and Atlanta player Pessina scored in 95' and 105' minutes to secure Italy's quarter final spot. Austria fought fiercely to stop it and scored one back in 114' but they couldnt avoid evitable knockout.
It was true as the Austrian captain David Alaba said after the match "it wasn't easy as it looked to be on the field against Italy. We and Austria can be proud of teams performance".
Earlier, Austria started slow and carefully. 12 shots by Italy and 2 on target, while 1 shot overall from Austria , who were busy defending whole first half. Bus parked inside box by Austria.
Italians were using more attaching 4-3-3 vs 4-2-3-1 of Austria.

Barella shot , ball came from left Spinazoa sends it into the box, Insigne and Immobile couldn't get ball as it went behind them, and Barella reaches and shoots with outside of his right foot, but good save by Austrian keeper.

In second half, Austria slowly turned into top gears. Arnautovic run was excellent, but his shot went wide
51' free kick just outside box bycaptain David Alaba looked good but shot was bit high for a goal.
55' was a goot attack from left wing by Insigne, but cross was tapped out for a corner by Alaba. Bonucci headed out the resulting corner for a goal kick.

Austria believing they can stop Italy. But, Italy's subs really took the game away. After goal, Donnarumma did an excellent stop diving to his left.
It was Italy's 8th extra time match, only first ever scoring in extra time. Most extra time plays by any team in Euros. Also, it was their second consecutive 4 wins, after 2010, when they finished as finalists then.
In quarter, Italy would meet winners of Belgium v Portugal match.
